A cooling essay that invents a water figure is as useful as a cooler with a dry pad. These are the house rules.

Sources

Climate and water claims should be traceable to public Australian sources — utilities, planning agencies, Sustainability Victoria, CHOICE, BOM climate normals — or to named reporting. We distinguish a typical range from a single afternoon’s anecdote.

Health

We do not diagnose. Pieces on asthma, mould and smoke describe mechanisms and public guidance. They are not a substitute for a clinician.

Commerce

Brand names appear when they are part of the Australian market, not because a publicist asked. We do not publish paid product rankings. Guest essays with a commercial URL carry rel="sponsored" on that link. The write for us page is the only front door for pitches.

Corrections

Factual errors are corrected in the article, with the date of the change in the byline line when the change is material. Send evidence through the contact form.
